secondary research - helen musselwhite

Helen Musselwhite is an extraordinary Manchester based, illustrator turned paper artist. Her work is right up my street, as she incorporates nature into almost all of her work, using the elements of nature I find particularly alluring.

'White Butterflies' - Helen Musselwhite
I really like the detail used in the pieces, and the compositions are amazing. Even in the above piece, Musselwhite has managed to make a primarily white sculpture look textured and interesting as!

'Butterfly Garden' - Helen Musselwhite
The use of layering in this piece is great, too! The black contrasts with the pink really well.

'Butterflies' - Helen Musselwhite
The above piece, simply named, 'Butterflies', is quite similar to the other white papercraft further up, but this one gives the illusion of hidden creatures within. Everytime you look at this piece you spot something new, which is cool.

'Beauties Butterfly' - Helen Musselwhite
This is a wall hanging, in the shape of a butterfly, but encasing different scenes of nature; all made from paper.

I've found Helen Musselwhite to be really inspirational, and I'd really like to incorporate something similar to her work into my project.
